For exploitation of new antidiarrheal agents to heat-labile enterotoxin (LT) produced by enterotox-
igenic E. coli, we have tested several drugs by rabbit ileal loop assay and obtained some significant
results. L-glutathione (20 mg), P-chloromercuriphenyl sulfonic acid (20 mg) and water heating extract
of Prunus mume (20 mg) reduced LT-mediated intestinal fluid secretion in rabbit ileal loop assay by
